TIFF Day 05: Monday Night Football

This morning I set off to Boston flying American Airlines to go to Gillette Stadium to watch the season opener of Monday Night Football.  I have been a long time follower of the New England Patriots and have always wanted to see a game live and this was my chance to take a break from the film festival action.

It felt like a AFL Grand Final Day (Australian Rule Football) and the people's set up in the car parks outside the stadium had to be seen to be believed.  Tailgating before the game is an American tradition with  complex BBQ set ups and preparation.  People were setting up plasma television outside their RV's to watch the pre game coverage.

The Patriots went into the game red hot favorites to win, but what I ended up seeing was the Patriots snatching a victory from the jaws of defeat in the dying two minutes of the match scoring two touchdowns.  The crowd cheered and I was witnessed to incredible insight into Americans favorite game.

This is the view from my seat on the night, for the record Patriots 25 to Buffalo Bills 24.
